Except as otherwise provided for in the Insurance Code, an individual may not, on the basis of actual or perceived race, color, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, age or disability, be excluded from participation in, be denied the benefits of or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any health benefit plan issued or delivered in this state."
